The Aper Aku Stadium in Makurdi would be ready for the Confederation of African Football (Caf) inspection team, according to Lobi Stars Vice Chairman Mike Idoko.

Lobi Stars were handed the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) crown and would play in the Caf Champions League next session.

And ahead of the Caf visit in November, the sports edifice is having a new look with renovations already on the way.

“From the inspection, we have done so far, we have to go back and fix those things. This is not the first CAF competition played in the state,” Idoko added.

“In 2000, Lobi played continental matches here. But we have to look at the floodlights, scoreboard, seats and the dressing rooms.

“I am confident that all these facilities will be put in place before the inspection team arrives next month. The Governor has assured us of adequate funding.”
