Schools In North East To Get Police Protection – IGP Idris

Schools in the northeast of the country have been promised extra police protection by the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris.

This is in light of the activities of Boko Haram insurgents and the recent kidnap and return of the Dapchi school girls.

The IGP gave the assurance on Friday in Borno during a visit to Government College and Yelwa Government Girls College in Maiduguri.

Idris said the police are working to put a stop to the incidences of kidnapping.

He said each school would get 10 polices officers of both sexes, adding that the success of the decision is dependent on the cooperation of the students and the managers of the schools.

He said all suspicious characters should be reported for immediate action, adding that the students should shun all social vices and be law-abiding.
