Shakira Wins Best Latin Pop Album Twice At Grammys

Colombian singer and belly dancer Shakira has made history on Sunday by emerging the first Latin singer to win Best Latin Pop Album twice at the Grammys.

Shakira won the award for her “Eldorado” album after first winning in the same category 17 years ago.

The “Waka Waka” singer took to her Instagram page to appreciate her fans in two videos, one in Spanish and the other in English.

She captioned the footage, “Gracias por este Grammy! / Thank you for this Grammy! Shak.”

Shakira, is a four-time Grammy world record holder, who has released eleven studio albums and 49 singles which includes nine feature tracks and nine promotional singles.

Her official song for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, “Waka Waka (This Time For Africa)” is the biggest-selling World Cup song of all time with 10 million downloads.

The song is also one of the most viewed music videos on YouTube with over 1.6 billion views.

Shakira was a member of the President Barack Obama’s Advisory Commission on Educational Excellence for Hispanics which comprises of four people.
