Newborn Baby’s Head Found Beside Canal In Lagos

A severed head of a newborn baby has been found beside a canal in Itire area of Lagos state, Southwest Nigeria.

The baby’s head, according to reports, was discovered on Monday morning, and residents believe ritualists carried out the horrific act.

It was learned that the hairy head was kept inside a black pot with bloodstains around it.

“In my observation, the victim was a day old baby. People were shocked and cursed the perpetrators. The area is usually deserted by 9pm,” a resident Kabiru Anifowoshe told Punch.

Meanwhile, CNG understands that the head has been deposited at the Mainland General Hospital morgue, Yaba, for autopsy.

This was made known by the spokesman of the Lagos State Police Command, SP Chike Oti.

“The scene was photographed while the head was removed and deposited in the morgue for autopsy. Effort is being made to track down the perpetrators of the evil act,” he said.
