Sex-For-Grades: Interesting Facts Emerge About BBC’s Kiki Mordi

Kiki Mordi recently led a team of investigative reporters to uncover sexual harassment of female students by lecturers at the University of Lagos (UNILAG).

Concise News reports that Kiki and her team also went undercover to film harassment of students at the University of Ghana.

The investigation took over one year to produce with many female students narrating horrid tales with male lecturers on campuses of Nigerian universities.

Kiki Mordi’s Biography, Fact

Kiki was born in Port Harcourt and works with BBC Africa radio as a presenter; she is also the head of presentation with Women Radio FM 9.17.

In addition, Kiki is a writer, filmmaker, and storyteller and dropped out of school due to sexual harassment.

Presently, she is based in the United Kingdom and took up the undercover report due to her experience with sexual predators.

She was admitted into one of the best universities in Nigeria to study medicine but later dropped out after a certain lecturer wanted to have sex with her.

Kiki’s father is late and she said in the documentary that he would have been proud of her undercover work for the BBC.

She won the Nigerian Broadcasters Merit Award for Outstanding Programme Presentation, South-South.

UNILAG Takes Action

In the documentary, one of the lecturers at the University of Lagos Boniface Igbeneghu, a former sub-dean of Faculty of Arts, made sexual advances at a “prospective student” who claimed to be 17 years old.

Igbeneghu is also a pastor of a local branch of the Foursquare Gospel Church and has since been suspended by the church and the University of Lagos following the undercover report.
