Gov Eno Convenes Akwa Ibom Paramount Rulers Meeting

Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has convened a crucial meeting with Paramount Rulers from 29 out of the 31 local government areas to address amendments to the Akwa Ibom State Traditional Rulers’ Law. Paramount Rulers from Ibeno and Ini LGAs were notably absent due to health reasons.

Expressing gratitude for the turnout, Governor Eno reiterated his administration’s dedication to resolving the matter in a peaceful manner.

The meeting saw unanimous agreement on the formation of a 7-man Committee tasked with examining the rotation structure for the position of President-General of the Akwa Ibom State Supreme Council of Traditional Rulers. Paramount Rulers voiced their support for the proposed committee, fostering an atmosphere of unity and collaboration.

Key speakers at the gathering, including the President-General of the State Supreme Council of Traditional Rulers, His Eminence Nteyin Solomon Etuk, CFR, emphasized the significance of peace and unity for the advancement of the state.

Governor Eno expressed appreciation for the wisdom and support of all stakeholders involved, reaffirming a collective commitment to promoting harmony and progress in Akwa Ibom State.
