Yobe Commissioner Denies Plan To Run For Governor

The Commissioner of Works, Transport and Energy in Yobe state, Lawan Shettima Ali, has denied that he is plotting to contest the 2019 governorship election.

He said the reports are being peddled by “political blackmailers” who are out damage his relationship with Governor Ibrahim Gaidam.

The commissioner said he was satisfied with his current position and would remain committed to the people-oriented policies of the governor.

Shettima Ali said: “The so called endorsement by the group is not only mischievous but disingenuous and frivolous attempt to distract me from collaborating with my boss on service delivery to the people in the state.”

The commissioner said such rumours would not detract his focus and loyalty in executing the reforms currently being implemented in the state.

Shettima urged APC members in the state to disregard the publication because it was sponsored by political jobbers and speculators.
