Gernot Rohr has claimed that the Super Eagles played poorly against Czech Republic in a warm-up for the 2018 Fifa World Cup because they arrived late for the game.

Nigeria lost to the Europeans 1-0 in a friendly played in Austria.

Tomas Kalas scored the only goal in the 20th minute to ensure the Eagles lost two tune-ups in four days, having lost 2-1 to England on Saturday in London.

And they are now winless in four games following a 2-0 loss to Serbia in March and a 1-1 draw with DR Congo in Port Harcourt on 28 May.

Nigeria began the game on a sloppy note, as they did against England, and were punished by the Europeans who took the lead in the 25th minute via Tomas Kalas.

In a chat with reporters, Rohr revealed that the team arrived at the stadium late from their training base, which he thinks negatively affected the players.

“I think we need to change the arrangement before the game. We arrived only one hour before the match and we didn’t have enough to do proper warm-up,” he said.

“I hope the conditions will change for everyone in future.”
