We Use Our Salary To Sensitise Voters – NOA Boss

DG National Orientation Agency (NOA), Dr. Garba Abari

Barely 10 days to the governorship election in Anambra state, the National Orientation Agency (NOA) says it is restricted by lack of funds.

That, the agency say, has prevented it from extensively educating voters in the state.

Director of the agency in Anambra Dr Mike Ozoemena made this known while speaking with newsmen on voters sensitisation campaign for the poll.

He said the agency had not been getting funds to run its activities, thereby, compelling its officials to use their salaries to carry out voter education and other sensitisation exercises for the election.

“The situation has been so bad that the staff have been forced to use their salaries to carry out the sensitisation campaign because the job must be done,” he said.

He further noted that voter apathy had characterised many elections in the state, but expressed optimism the coming election would be different.
