Stuart Symington, the American Ambassador to Nigeria, said that United States is working with the Nigerian Governors Forum (NGF) to strengthen security and enhance economic development in their states.
Symington disclosed this during a courtesy visit on Governor Muhammad Badaru of Jigawa in Dutse on Friday.
The ambassador said that the collaboration between US and NGF will strengthen economic, political, security and cultural relationship between the US and Nigerian government.
Symington said the US would work with the Nigerian in all sectors of human endeavours with a view to boost the development of the country.
Speaking, Governor Badaru praised the US Government on its development projects in Nigeria through its development agencies like the USAID.
Badaru noted that the US Government has achieved a lot in the areas of health, education, agriculture, economy, information and communication, water sanitation, among others through its donor agencies.
The governor urged the diplomat to bring more developmental projects to the state through partnership.
He specifically mentioned projects like the girl child education, maternal and child health care among others.
The governor pledged that the Jigawa government will give the US government all the necessary support and cooperation in all its programmes in the state.
