Abuja Hotel Detains Taraba FC Players, Officials Over Unpaid Bills

Players and officials of Nigeria National League side Taraba FC were on Saturday detained by the management of the Moralex Hotel in Abuja, over non-payment of their bills.
The Jalingo-based side were said to have last week sourced funds from groups and individuals before proceeding for the league game against Abuja FC.
Chairman of the cash-strapped lower-league club Daniel Ishaya Gani lamented their ordeal.
He told Guardian that “The people we borrowed money from for us in order to honour the National league feature in Abuja and the management of the hotel we lodged are holding us hostage because of our inability to offset our bills.
“We have resolved to go round and borrow money from our members in the National Assembly and we are hopeful that some of them will come to our rescue.”
Gani further faulted the state government for their predicament as he said it has relegated both the players and the team management to the background.
