Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari, was said to have personally submitted the ministerial list to the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan in the early hours of Tuesday.

Nigerians have expressed surprise as President Muhammadu Buhari did not include the immediate past governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode, in his ministerial list for his second term. The former Lagos leader was expected to make the cabinet after he failed to clinch the ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2019 elections. Adeyeye said the annual recess was initially billed to start on Thursday, but the Senate would start the screening on Wednesday.

Former vice-president Atiku Abubakar has berated President Muhammadu Buhari for the ministerial nomination list sent to the Senate for screening and approval. Paul Ibe, Spokesperson of Atiku, made this known in a tweet on his official Twitter page on Tuesday. Ibe accused Buhari of deflecting the attention of the country from the clash between Shi’ite and police with the release of the ministerial list. He said Buhari used his 43-man ministerial list to deflect the narrative of the ‘avoidable’ death of about 13 persons during a Shiites protest against the continued detention of their leader, Ibrahim El-Zakzaky.

President Muhammadu Buhari has commiserated with the family of the late Precious Owolabi who was killed by a stray bullet during a protest by the members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) called Shiites. Air Peace airline crash-landed at the local wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos on Tuesday, Concise News reports. According to reports, the airline made the emergency landing on the runway, but no life was lost. It was gathered that the airline had developed a technical fault after takeoff from Port Harcourt, Rivers State. The Air peace Boeing 737 landing gear collapsed after dropping 30 ft shortly before landing at the Lagos Airport.
7. Six Children Die Of Measles In Kaduna
A measles outbreak has claimed at least six children lives and several other critically ill in Wusar community, Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The six children were among the 30 reported cases of a measles outbreak that broke out in the community in the last two months. The state deputy governor, Hadiza Balarabe, who confirmed the incident during a visit to the community, attributed the outbreak of measles in the area due to the failure of parents to present their children for routine immunization against child killer diseases.

Members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), otherwise known as Shi’ites have distanced themselves from the murder of the Deputy Commissioner of Policein charge of operations in the FCT, DCP Usman Musa and the Channels Television reporter, Precious Owolabi. According to the Sheikh Ibraheem El-Zakzaky-led group of the Shi’ites Islamic sect, the victims may have been victims of ‘friendly fire’. In a statement issued by the President of its Media Forum, Ibrahim Musa, the IMN stated categorically that, Owolabi’s death was a clear case of falling victim to a shooting spree embarked upon by the police during the protest.
