Mama Taraba, Seven APC Lawmakers Defect To UDP

Former Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development Aisha Alhassan has dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the United Democratic Party (UDP).

On Saturday, she withdrew her membership from the APC and also resigned her appointment from President Muhammadu Buhari’s government.

Suleiman Dantosho, her media aide, confirmed this and made available copies of her resignation letter.

Making her new party known on Twitter, Alhassan said she left the APC with all local government party leaders as well as seven state lawmakers.

She wrote: “I have officially JOINED my next POLITICAL PARTY with 7 state Assembly Members, all @APCNigeria executives from 169 wards of Taraba State. All 16 local Government exco’s of APC All states executives of APC, we are now in UDP.”
