The Federal Government empowerment scheme, N-Power, has revealed that backlog of payments for the 2016 batch might be paid in March.

Concise News understands that this assurance came from the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Job Creation, Afolabi Imoukhuede.

Imoukhuede said this in a Facebook live broadcast recently where he also dismissed reports that the N-Power scheme has started receiving applications for the 2019 batch.

According to him, the payment of the backlog of salaries for the N-Power Nigeria 2016 batch will be in March at the earliest.

“Still on 2016 Batch,” he said, “some of you who are expecting backlog payments in terms of you had skipped some payments because you had payment challenges, now you have been paid and continue to get paid but you are expecting a few more months, maybe 2 or 3 months thereabout.

“I am told that about 602 of you have now been successfully confirmed based on all the verification documents you have uploaded to the support team and so you are currently in the next set of backlog payments that we will processed perhaps at the earliest between the end of February and March, 602 of you will expect payment.

“Of course those of you in Batch 1, which is again the 2016 Batch that keep expressing concerns around your faith in the program.

“I can only answer it this way to say to you that you can only continue to have faith in a program that you also came in when you did not even believe in the program.

“We have all heard your testimonies; you have not hidden your testimonies about the fact that you all had your doubts about this program but we shocked your doubt and we have continued to keep to our words and to every promise that were made to you.”
