Lightning Strikes 16 Dead In Rwanda Church

 

 

Over 16 persons have been killed as lightning struck a Seventh-Day Adventist church in Rwanda, with 14 of them dying on the spot.

Mayor Habitegeko Francois said the incident took place at the church located in the Nyaruguru district in the Southern Province on Saturday.

He noted that two others died later from injuries with the 140 persons involved in the incident been rushed to hospitals and district health centres.

“Doctors say that only three of them are in critical condition but they are getting better,” he told AFP.

In addition, he stated that a similar accident happened on Friday when lightning struck a group of 18 students with one of them dead!
