Suarez Reacts To Griezmann’s ‘Respect’ After France Loss
Uruguayan hit-man Luis Suarez has said French star Antoine Griezmann does not know what his team has to do “to succeed in football.”
Griezmann had scored in his team’s 2-0 last eight win over the South Americans on Friday but did not celebrate out of respect.
The 27-year-old spoke of his “love” for “Uruguayans and Uruguayan culture” due to close relationships with club team-mate Diego Godin and ex-Real Sociedad mentor Martin Lasarte.
However, the gesture received a lukewarm response from Suarez.
“He’s not Uruguayan, he’s French and he scored a goal,” the Barcelona star told reporters. “He doesn’t know what we have to do to succeed in football.
“He will have his customs and his Uruguayan way of speaking, but we feel differently.”
