Sexual Harassment: Barakat’s Father Withdraws Case Against Ogun Commissioner

Adesola Melojuekun, the father of Barakat Melojuekun, has announced that he has withdrawn the sexual allegation case against the Ogun State Commissioner for Environment.

Barakat had accused the Commissioner of sexually harassing her at his house by touching her breasts while reciting incantations.

She said this in a video which went viral forcing the Ogun State Government to suspend the Commissioner.

A few hours after the suspension, Barakat who is 16-year-old released another video pleading for the matter to rest.

He father also toed the same path with a statement announcing the withdrawal of the case against the Commissioner.

He said, “There were a few misconception and misunderstanding along the line between my daughter and the Commissioner.

“Having discovered this, I deem it fit to inform the public and the international community that this matter should be laid to rest.

“As the father to Melojuekun Barakat, I want to appeal to the public, the international community and the media that I don’t have interest in this matter again.

“I am withdrawing my case and I want them to support me the same way they did in the beginning of this matter,” the father pleaded.
