It Seems I Earn More, Jibrin Mocks Dogara’s Pay Slip
By Ogbolu George
Suspended member of the House of Representatives, Hon Abdulmumin Jibrin, has hinted that Speaker Yakubu Dogara’s pay slip, which was released this week in response to Governor Nasir El-Rufai, was possibly fabricated.
There have been a war of words between Dogara and El-Rufai on the details of the National Assembly budget.
Allegations and counter allegations
El-Rufai had in a retreat for members of the National Assembly called on the leaders of the legislative arm to keep their promise of promoting transparency by releasing the details of the National Assembly budget.
Dogara while responding challenged the Kaduna state governor to publish the details of how much he earned as governor and the amount spent as security vote.
The Kaduna state governor in response to Dogara’s remarks, published his earnings and presented his pay slip and also challenged the Speaker to do same.
Pay slip
In response, the media office of the Speaker, on Tuesday, published his pay slip for the last six months.
Hon. Jibrin who fell out with Dogara over the allegations of padding the 2016 budget, in a series of tweets on his official Twitter handle @AbdulAbmJ, said going by the figures released, it would appear he earned more than Speaker Dogara.
