President Ramaphosa Pays Tribute To Winnie Mandela
South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has described Winnie Mandela, wife of former President Nelson Mandela as a “voice of defiance” against white-minority rule.
Recall that Winnie, a dogged fighter for the rights of blacks in South Africa, died on Monday.
While sending his condolence message, Ramaphosa said the late Madiba’s wife was a champion of justice and equality.
“Winnie was a voice of defiance and resistance. In the face of exploitation, she was a champion of justice and equality,” the president said, adding that she “was an abiding symbol of the desire of our people to be free.”
