PHOTOS: Protesters Burn Bank Over Naira Scarcity In Warri

Protesters have burnt the branch of Access Bank in Udu, Warri, Delta State, over the scarcity of new naira notes and the rejection of old naira notes by banks.

Photos sourced online by Concise News showed the burnt bank while videos showed the moment angry Nigerians were throwing stones at the bank.

Concise News also learnt that similar protests are ongoing in Ibadan, Ilorin and Benin.

The protests erupted after the Supreme Court adjourned the case brought before it by three states against the Federal Government and its naira redesign policy implemented by the Central Bank of Nigeria which saw the redesign of naira notes from N100 to N1,000 denomination.

More states have also joined the suit against the Federal Government while a ruling is expected on February 22, just days to the February 25 presidential election.
