Chairman of the National Caretaker Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ahmed Makarfi, said the success of the party in the Osun West Senatorial by-election is an evidence of the party’s unity.

Ademola Adeleke of the PDP was announced the winner of the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday.

The by-election was organised to fill the void created by the death of late Senator Isiaka Adeleke.

Acceptance of PDP

In a statement issued on Sunday in Abuja by the committee’s National Publicity Secretary, Dayo Adeyeye, Makarfi said the victory showed continued acceptance of the PDP.

”The successful outcome of this election is an evidence of hard work, dedication and the unity of all members of PDP in Osun.

”They buried their temporary differences in the overall interest of the party and the good people of Osun.

”We are confident that the PDP remains the party to beat in elections,” Makarfi boasted.
