Former governor of Abia Orji Uzor Kalu on Saturday advised former Governor of Jigawa Alhaji Sule Lamido to forget about contesting next year’s presidential election.

Kalu insisted that President Muhammadu Buhari had performed well and should be allowed to lead Nigeria for another four years.

He told Lamido, who is seeking the highest office in the land, come 2019 elections, that he could not think twice about supporting and voting for Buhari, urging the former governor to drop his ambition.

Kalu made this known on Saturday during on a state visit to Jigawa.

“Although Alhaji Sule Lamido happens to be my bosom friend and an aspirant for Nigeria’s president in the PDP, I told him I won’t vote for him against President Muhammad Buhari,” he declared.

The former Abia governor also had a word for former President Olusegun Obasanjo, who had called on Nigeria to vote against Buhari because, according to him, the President had performed poorly.

“People seem to have forgotten when former president Obasanjo was literally absent for about three years travelling all over the world‎ when he was president and then nobody told him not seek re-election.

“He (Obasanjo) does‎ not have the moral right to decide for Nigerians who becomes president even though when he was president no one wrote letters advising him against seeking for re election.”
