Chairman of the Nigeria Directors of Sports Forum, Tunde Kazeem, has appealed to President Mohammadu Buhari to revive the National Sports Festival.

Kazeem was speaking at the Joint Technical meeting of the 3rd National Youth Games.

He expressed unhappiness over the falling standards of Nigerian sports.

“We are not happy that the 19th National Sports Festival has not seen the light of day.

“The minister should ensure that the competition takes place this year. We appeal to President Buhari to bail the country out as far as the hosting of the festival is concerned. We want the president to give an immediate intervention to the hosting of the festival.”

He then applauded the National Assembly for working on a law that will establish the National Sports Commission and called for its quick passage.

Kazeem further congratulated Amaju Pinnick, the President of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF). on his victory at the Confederation of African Football (Caf) election last Thursday.
