Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos says they will not give Barcelona a guard of honour in El Clasico at the Nou Camp on Sunday.

Barcelona were crowned La Liga champions after they beat Deportivo La Coruna and can go the league season unbeaten if they avoid defeat in their final four games.

The Catalan’s next league match is at home to Real Madrid, and full-back Jordi Alba has suggested they should be given a guard of honour by their rivals prior to kick-off.

But Ramos has rejected the idea with Real Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane instructing his side not to respect Barcelona’s league triumph.

The defender said ahead of their Champions League semi-final second leg against Bayern Munich: “What Zidane says is gospel. We’re making too much fuss out of all this.

“Barca have the title, which is what they wanted, but there will be no guard of honour full stop.

“They want to enjoy their title and the same for us and ours, we need to eliminate the Germans and to reach another final.”

Real Madrid remain on course for an unprecedented third consecutive European Cup and Zidane said his side will attack Bayern Munich at the Bernabeu on Tuesday despite the Spanish side’s 2-1 advanatge.

“The key for us is think about winning the game and go onto the pitch wanting to do that,” the Frenchman said. “We need to go out to score quickly and that’s what we’ll try to do.

“It’s a semi-final, we know how important it is and what we have to do. We don’t have to change what we’re doing.

“Our focus and determination will be there – we don’t need to change much – what we did in the first leg was good, but we now need to show in the return that what we want is to go through.”
