Make Fela Tourist Attraction, Nigerians Urge FG
Nigerians have branded Fela a tourist attraction, following the visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to the Afrika Shrine, the singer’s spiritual home when he was alive.
With several memories built around the walls of his Shrine, where during his lifetime, he hosted several concerts, people have traveled from far and near to tap into the legacy of the iconic singer.
Even the President of France has made history not just as the first President to visit the shrine, but declaring the place as a place where African heritage abides.
Reacting to Macron’s statement and his recent visit, music lovers advised the government to tap into Fela’s popularity and make him a tourist attraction.
See their reactions below:
If President Emmanuel Macron could visit the Afrika Shrine in Lagos to #CelebrateAfricanCulture, then truly, we are yet to really understand and appreciate the value of Fela!
Pele is considered a National Asset in Brazil.
What have we done with Fela?
Fela is enough tourism!
