NEMA Deploys Helicopter, Ambulances To Kaduna

Rescue helicopters have been deployed by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), to Kaduna airport for emergency operation.

This was made known by Sani Datti, spokesperson of NEMA,

NEMA has also deployed three Mobile Intensive Care Unit (MICU) Ambulances and three Rapid Intervention Vehicles (RIV) to Kaduna State to join others in providing support for emergency operations in the State.

Datti, said the three MICU ambulances and the RIVs would be stationed along Jere and Katari towns, Kaduna-Abuja road and Kaduna International Airport, while the helicopter is to be used for medical patrol.

MICU ambulances are used to administer first aid treatment and stabilisation for trauma victims on their way to the hospital as it serves as a mobile hospital.

Rapid Intervention Vehicles are used for search and rescue operations, fight fire outbreaks and extrication of victims trapped in accident vehicles or collapsed structures.
