The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Dr Victor Oye, has said President Muhammadu Buhari has the moral and constitutional right to seek re-election.

He made this known on Friday at the end of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party.

He stated that it was however for Nigerian electorate to decide if they wanted him to continue or not.

Oye said: “People ask us if it was good or bad, we say it is not for us to say it is good or bad; it is for the citizens who have the power of voting to decide and they would be right in their choices.”

APGA president said Buhari meant well for Nigeria, insisting that he had the capacity to resolve many of the challenges facing the country.

According to him, it was Buhari’s appointees that do not share his mindset; hence the need to purge them.

He also said Buhari’s approach to anti-corruption war was being implemented at the expense of other pressing national issues; hence the need to fine-tune it.

Some elements from APGA from the South East had in 2013 formed part of the legacy parties that gave birth to the All Progressives Congress (APC) under whose platform won the presidential election.
