Nigerian rap icon, Modenine, following a misunderstanding of his post by fans, has clarified that Jay-Z did not steal his song.

This misunderstanding came after Jay-Z’s album 4:44, was released.

The Nigerian rap mogul, drew several fans attention to the similarity of one of the soundtrack ‘The Story of O.J’ in the American rapper’s recent album, which bears similarities to his 2008 track ‘My Skin is Black’.

He played both songs and several media outlets misinterpreted it to be a call for plagiarism by the ‘My Skin is Black’ singer, against Jay-Z. However, he has said that they both got their songs from Nina Simone’s 1985 song, titled ‘Four Women’.
