Lionel Messi stole the show with a hat-trick as Barcelona clinched a 25th La Liga title on Sunday with a 4-2 spanking of Deportivo La Coruna.

The result also confirmed Deportivo’s relegation from the Spanish top-flight.

Record-signing Philippe Coutinho put the Blaugrana in front after only seven minutes.

Thereafter, it was Messi’s turn to find the back of the net, before the hosts deservedly pulled one back through Lucas Perez five minutes before halftime.

Turkish midfielder Emre Colak later equalised in the 68th minute.

But the runaway leaders went in front through Messi as he struck from close range in the 82nd minute after being teed up by Suarez.

Messi claimed his 32nd league goal of the season with the help of another pass from Suarez to round off the victory and give Barca a seventh Liga title in 10 years.
