Biafra: Nnamdi Kanu’s Secretary Speaks On Hate Speech Bill

Pro-Biafra agitator Amaka Ekwo has berated the Federal Government’s move to establish a Hate Speech Commission.

This new medium understands that Amaka who is the Press Secretary to the leader of the banned Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) said this on Thursday.

She was reacting to Nigerian Senate on introduction of a bill which seeks to establish a commission to check hate speech in Africa’s most populous country.

The bill, titled National Commission for the Prohibition of Hate Speeches (Estb., etc) Bill 2019, has passed first reading on the floor of the Senate. Read more here.

All Igbo Must Rise Against ‘Constitutional Violation’ – Nnamdi Kanu’s Counsel

A Counsel to the leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, Barrister Aloy Ejimakor has slammed the decision of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mohammed Adamu to promote thirteen commissioners of Police to Assistant Inspectors General of Police as ‘bias’.

The legal practitioner alleged that there was no Igbo officer among the thirteen promoted.

He stated that this act is a ‘violation of Section 14 of the Nigerian Constitution’, and called on citizens of Nigeria of Igbo descent to object to it.

Ejimakor wrote on his known Twitter handle on Wednesday: “It’s a gross violation of Section 14 of the Constitution that there’s NO Igbo amongst the 13 Police Commissioners (all Northern muslims) recently promoted to AIGs and none amongst the 12 Zonal Commanders. All Igbo must rise against this. It should not be left to #IPOB alone.” Read more here.
