Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has revealed why his side lost 3-1 at home to Manchester City in the English Premier League.

The game played on Sunday saw three first-half goals from Olkay Gundogan, Phil Foden and Kevin De Bruyne.

Chelsea got a consolation goal from Callum Hudson-Odoi late in the second half which was not enough against a City side that controlled the game.

“From 15 minutes onwards we allowed City to take control of the game, find spaces between the lines, and play with the quality of players they have,” Lampard said as quoted by Chelsea’s official website.

He added, “The two goals came in quick succession, and you have to continue believing and keep going, and for the rest of the half the players found that difficult because of the levels City were playing at with and without the ball.”
