Lagos Court Grants 42 Homosexuals N.5m Bail Each

Chief Magistrate Adewale Ojo of Ebute-Metta Magistrate Court on Thursday granted 12 minors bail to the sum of N500,000 and two sureties in like sum.

The suspects were arraigned for alleged homosexuality by the Lagos State government.

Also, 30 adults homosexuals were arraigned before Yaba Magistrate Court for alleged homosexuality.

The defendants were arrested last Saturday by men of the Lagos State Police Command in Owode Onirin area of the state.

They were reportedly caught in the act at a popular hotel.

The defendants were said to have on or about 29th July, 2017, at Vintage Hotel, No. 999 Ikorodu Road/Toyin Close, Weigh Bridge, Owode Onirin, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did engage in gay activities by permitting male persons to have canal knowledge of themselves against the order of nature and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 261 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The adults are Adedayo Kamadupe, Abiodun Pedro, Ikechukwu Onyebuchi, Dike Stanley, Oji Charles Isioma, Garuba Ibrahim, Monday Favour, Ayo Marcus Ayobamidele, Stanley Adeasbo, Victor Isaac, Godwin Williams, Kashimawo Oluwatosin, Abass Tajudeen, Olamigoke Adeola and Yussuf Fawaz.

Others are Johnson Michael, Francis Michael, Samuel Adeyinka, Samuel Collins, Kazeem Akorede, Adebayo Bukola, Ochiagha Ifeanyi, Babatunde Taiwo, Raphael Dugh, Kenneth Ubaji, Alisi Okechukwu, Malik Ahmed and Olamide Adeola.

All the defendants pleaded not guilty to the charge, after which Chief Magistrate Adewale Ojo granted them bail.
