Lagos Athlete Wins Triple Gold at All African Games

Lagos State’s Adijat Adenike Olarinoye (MON) demonstrated remarkable prowess at the ongoing 13th All African Games in Accra, Ghana, securing three gold medals in the women’s 55kg category for Team Nigeria.

Following the success of Lagos badminton athletes Anuoluwapo Opeyori and Godwin Olofua, who clinched gold and silver medals, respectively, Olarinoye’s stellar performance further elevated Nigeria’s standing on the medals table.

Displaying sheer dominance, Olarinoye lifted a total of 185kg, securing her third gold medal with a clean lift of 80kg in snatch and 105kg in clean and jerk.

Lauding her achievement, Lekan Fatodu, the Director-General of the Lagos State Sports Commission, hailed Olarinoye as a shining star athlete who has brought glory to Lagos State and Nigeria as a whole.
