Katsina APC Suspends Vice Chairman
The Katsina State chapter of the All Progressives Congress Party (APC) has suspended its vice chairman for Katsina Central zone, Mamman Batsari.
A meeting of the state’s exco had since ratified his suspension and the formation of a five-man committee to investigate his alleged anti-party activities.
The committee has Barrister Yarima Danja as chairman and was given two weeks within which to conclude its assignment and report back to the State Working Committee (SEC) of the party.
Other members on the committee included Barrister Auwal Bindawa, Barrister Muktar Daura, Barrister Ayuba with Lawal Adamu as secretary.
When contacted, the embattled Batsari said it was not the right time for him to comment, adding that the committee had yet to contact him.
“What the party did was erroneous; how can they set up a committee and further go ahead to suspend me without waiting for the committee to carry out its assigned duty?” he queried.
“As far as I’m concerned, I don’t know what I am being accused of; I was not told I did anything,” he said.
