Kanu Sells Off Club Papilo FC
Former Super Eagles skipper Nwankwo Kanu says he has sold his Nigeria National League club, Papilo FC.
According to reports, the former Arsenal man said he wanted to focus on his academy and other projects.
It was gathered that the team sold its slot in the NNL to Calabar Rovers.
“Yeah, I just wanted to continue with the (football) academy and other sporting events,” Kanu said.
The former West Brom striker complained that government-owned teams in the lower league were muscling out privately owned ones due to their bigger budgets.
