Perekeme Kpodoh, former interim chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Bayelsa state, on Monday, said that those President Goodluck Jonathan betrayed were responsible for him losing the 2015 presidential election.

He was reacting to some claims in a book titled, ”Against the Run of Play,” by former presidential spokesperson Segun Adeniyi.

Kpodoh said that the former president betrayed the people of the Niger Delta region by refusing to change their status with infrastructural developments.

”He should know that those he betrayed waited for him during the presidential election to have their pound of flesh. The loss at the poll was self-inflicted,” he said.

Kpodoh said that Jonathan was voted out by the Northerners because they felt betrayed over the abduction of the Chibok girls by Boko Haram.

”Jonathan’s presidency never wanted the people of the North East to vote. But they shocked him by coming out en masse to vote despite threats by Boko Haram,” he said.
