INEC Declares Outcome Of Benue Governorship Election
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the March 9 governorship election in Benue State, north-central Nigeria, inconclusive.
Returning officer for Benue, Sebastian Maimako, said the commission declared the poll inconclusive because 121,011 electorates were either unable to vote or election did not hold in their areas.
Maimako announced that Governor Samuel Ortom of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) scored 410,576, while his closest rival, Emmanuel Jime of the APC, polled 329,022 votes.
