Nigerian actress Funke Akindele’s name has been taken out from the list of actors to star in American superhero movie “Avengers: Infinity War.”

This was as a result of a “stunt” pulled by a hacker, who put the actress’s name on their website.

Few days ago, the name of the Nollywood thespian appeared on the website of the Marvel superhero movie, which made Nigerians go haywire.

Her name went viral on Twitter and Instagram as the first African actress to appear in the movie.

It was gathered that the actress was not even contacted for the role in the first place, so she did not confirm it on any of her social media accounts.

Meanwhile, the hackers mess has been fixed and things probably have strolled back to normalcy as the movie is still set to premiere in May.

“Avengers: Infinity War” is an American superhero film produced by Marvel Studios based on the Marvel Comics superhero team the Avengers.

Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures are the sole distributor of the movie which is intended to be the sequel to 2012’s Marvel’s The Avengers and 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron and the nineteenth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

The film is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, with a screenplay by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely.
