Nigerian entertainer and serial entrepreneur D’banj has advised youths especially artiste to think out of the box and make wealth off their fame.

The singer gave this advice at the 2018 Social Media Week (SMW) on Monday.

D’banj said the fear of poverty motivated him as an artiste to make a fortune for himself.

Speaking on the topic of “Change the Game: Artistes are leaders”, the singer who lauds himself as “An Entertainer” said that strategic thinking is the key to wealth generation.

He said, “The fear of being poor made me to think out of the box to create wealth for myself and remain relevant.

“Fame will not guarantee you money; fame will not give you wealth, but it can give you what you need if you channel it properly.

“Channelling your fame properly to create wealth is another advantage that stands you out.”

The Koko Master emphasised the need for artiste to build a brand of themselves.

Supporting the singer, the managing director of Diamond Bank Plc, Uzoma Dozie, revealed the bank’s interest in investing in artistes if information and data of their revenue flow are made available.

Dozie urged artiste to maintain high level of professionalism.

“What you do to inspire people and how you do it matter,” he noted.

The SMWL which started on February 26 will be ending on March 2.

This is the sixth edition of the annual event themed: ‘Closer.’
