Ezeemo Accepts Obiano’s Win

Godwin Ezeemo, candidate of the Progressive People Alliance (PPA) in Saturday’s governorship election in Anambra state has congratulated Governor Willie Obiano on his reelection.

Ezeemo conceded defeat on Sunday, less than two hours after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced the winner of the election.

The PPA candidate said, though, there were irregularities that marred the election, the interest and love of the Anambra people was of more concern to him.

He also said he was ready to support and assist Obiano in delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of the state.

Governor Obiano cruised to victory by polling 234,071 votes, more than double of Tony Nwoye’s, his closest rival and candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
