The Super Eagles paid more attention to fashion instead of football, says former Nigeria international Emmanuel Babayaro.

Croatia beat the three-time African champions 2-0 in their Group D opener played on Saturday.

Nigeria’s World Cup kit have garnered much attention and accolades from fashionistas globally.

It is reminiscent of the 1994 jersey worn at the country’s maiden outing at the competition.

However, Babayaro blasted the Eagles for paying more attention to their dressing than preparing for the competition.

“We are too engaged in playing to the gallery. Everybody is showing off in our jerseys, we’re the best dressed, we’re the best fashionistas,” he told Goal.

“Football doesn’t give room for any of this. If you give football 100 percent, it gives you back 100 percent.”
