Cross River Budgets N18bn For Aircraft, Ferry Sea Bus, Helicopter

A total of N18 billion has been budgeted by the Cross River state government for the purchase of aircraft, ferry sea bus and helicopter in 2018.

Also, N15 million was budgeted for the dredging of the Bakassi deep sea port while N87.7 million is for feasibility study, soil investigations and design of the Bakassi deep sea port.

These were contained in the report of the Finance and Appropriation Committee of the Cross River State of Assembly signed by Rt Hon Eteng Jonah Williams.

The report said, “N124, 929, 773, 500 was provided for capital expenditure. Out of this, N87, 707, 589, 500 was for feasibility study, soil investigation and design of the Bakassi deep sea port.

“Dredging of the deep sea port will take N15, 000, 000 while N6, 000, 000, 000, N7, 000, 000, 000 and N5, 000, 000, 000 are for procurement of ferry sea bus, aircraft and helicopter respectively”.

According to the committee, provisions proposed for projects in all MDAs should be approved by the State House of Assembly.
