A source in the Nigerian embassy in London has disclosed that President Muhammadu Buhari is awaiting his doctor’s nod to return to Nigeria as his health has ‘significantly’ improved.

The President returned to Nigeria on 10 March after spending 51 days in the British capital where he attended to his health.

Upon his return, the president said he ”couldn’t recall being so sick since he was a young man, including in the military with its ups and downs.”

He also said he could not recall ever having blood transfusion.

The president also hinted that he would return to the UK for further treatment.

President Buhari then left Nigeria for London on 7 May for the follow-up medical treatment.

Health improved substantially

”Oh yes; we thank God,” a source in the Nigeria High Commission in London, told Premium Times when asked if the president’s health had improved substantially.

The source disclosed that the president is doing ”very good” but added that only his doctors in UK will determine when he will return to Nigeria.

The source further said he was privileged to see the president on a daily basis.
