Nobel Laureate Wole Soyinka has said efforts should be made to prevent the Western Security Network Agency codenamed Amotekun Operation from becoming like SARS.
SARS is the Special Anti-Robbery Squad which was disbanded by the President following a protest against their brutality.
With Amotekun launched recently to protect the southwest from insecurity, Soyinka said the corps needs orientation to prevent them from going down the path of SARS.
He said, “I have told them anytime you want us to come and assist, we will come even if it is just on the ethical session so that as you are training them to defend us, we are also training their minds so that Amotekun does not become another SARS, very important. We must do everything together.”
