As Lagos-based MFM FC continue their impressive run in the abridged 2018/2019 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), their Assistant Coach says the team put up a good fight to secure a draw against Katsina United FC.

Concise News reports that the Olukoya Boys were able to pick a valuable away point with a 1-1 draw against the Changi Boys Wednesday at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium, Katsina.

The team avoided loss in the absence of Head Coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu, who is away on international assignment with the U-23 team in Tunisia.

MFM FC would have won the rescheduled Match Day 9 game after they got the first goal in the 44th minute through Chijioke Akuneto’s wonderful strike.

However, the homers stole a point in the 70th minute through Martins Usule.

On the valuable away point, the team’s assistant coach, Alli Obinna, says the team had to put up a good fight to secure the valuable point at the expense of the home team.

“First and Foremost I want to thank God Almighty because Katsina is not an easy place to draw or play to get what we got today.

“I want to thank the boys for the hard fight they put up today and at the end of the day, we got one point.

“Notwithstanding, we will continue to fight for a better finish in the league because it won’t end here for us to have a better standing at the end of the season, he says.”
