A former Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode has knocked President Muhammadu Buhari for threatening ballot box snatchers with death.

Concise News understands that Buhari had on Monday during a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) warned that anyone who snatches ballot boxes during the 2019 elections will be dealt with ruthlessly by security agencies.

However, Fani-Kayode has faulted President Buhari’s statement and wondered if he (Buhari) should not be the one defending the country’s laws.

In a statement on his Twitter handle, he wrote: “I am disgusted about @MBuhari’s orders to his security agencies to kill people for ballot-snatching.

“How can a civilian President, who is supposed to be the defender of the rule of law, speak like this? You don’t kill people for ballot-snatching, you arrest and prosecute them!”
