A 46-year-old unemployed man, Thomas Westwood, has told a court that he stabbed his mother to death over milk and tea argument.

Westwood said he stabbed his mother 17 times at Coventry home on Friday, December 1, 2017.

Susan suffered fatal injuries which eventually led to her death.

Westwood who was arrested at the crime scene, claimed his mother was the first to attack him with a knife. The man claimed his mother was a full-time bully.

He was reported to have said that the sad incident started after he made his mother a cup of tea which she said was not “milky enough”.

Her bereaved family have released a statement in reaction to her death.

The statement read: “We as a family have been left devastated and heartbroken at the loss of Susan.

“She was a loving mum, nan, sister, auntie and friend who will be missed so much.

“She was a kind, funny, generous warm loving person. She did not deserve to lose her life in the most cruelest of ways.

“To lose someone in your life is bad enough, but for Susan to be killed by someone she loved and supported endlessly is the cruellest blow. Someone she trusted and loved.

“This is beyond our comprehension.

“No family imagines ever having to go through such a traumatic event in their lives. We now have to face reality and realise Susan is never coming back to us.

“A big hole is left in our hearts that will never be filled. We pray she rests in peace now.”

Mail Online said Thomas Westwood pleaded guilty to charges of manslaughter.

The prosecutor, Peter Grieves-Smith said at the time of the attack, Westwood was suffering from paranoid Schizophrenia.

He revealed that Westwood had “certain belief” about his mother.

It was gathered that Westwood would be sentenced on Friday 3 August at Leamington Justice Court.
