Rapper Folarin Falana better known as Falz has taken to his Twitter page to bemoan sexual abuse and violence against the female gender.

Concise News reports that this follows a documentary by the BBC at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) where a lecturer Boniface Igbeneghu was caught on camera allegedly demanding for sex for grades.

In the 13-minute secret filming, the lecturer with the Faculty of Arts revealed how his colleagues sleep with female students for sex.

Condemning the act, Falz said it was time the country worked towards curbing the menace which has eaten deep into the society.

The rapper, who said he will always speak up against all forms of sexual abuse against women noted that only unity will get rid of the ‘dysfunctional system’

He tweeted “I don’t think this is a time for baseless animosity. I have and will always speak up against all forms of sexual abuse. Yesterday, today, tomorrow. What we should be doing is working together to get rid of this dysfunctional system that allows women to be taken advantage of.”

Recall that last year, there was a viral audio record of a conversation between an Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) lecturer, Prof. Richard Akindele, and a student wherein the former solicited sex.

According to the recording, Akindele, who is also a clergyman, was offering to upgrade the still unnamed student’s fail mark into a pass in exchange for multiple sexual liaisons with her.

The lecturer said the price to be paid is five sexual sessions.
