Tamaraebi Bakumo Oghenetega Abraham, simply known as Tammy Abraham has again spoken about the interest of both England and Nigeria in having him play for their national team.

Abraham, who has been in scintillating form in front of goal for Chelsea this season scored the Blues opener against Lille in the Champions League last night.

The player whose form has made a hot prospect for both Nigerian and English selectors scored a well-taken opener on the 22nd minute before his goal was cancelled out by Victor Osimhen’s header eleven minutes later.

A second-half half volley by Willian gave Chelsea the victory in a game whose talking points centred around the Nigerians leading the lines for both teams.

With Abraham’s international future yet to be stamped, fans are really eager to know where his heart lies.

The Three Lions and Super Eagles have both expressed interests in having the young attacker represent them, however the player has revealed to Omasports he is not under undue pressure.

When quizzed on how he feels about getting his first Champions League goal, Abraham said; ”I feel incredible. As a kid, I’ve always dreamt of this moment. With my fellow teammates like Fikayo (Tomori), Reece (James) and Mason Mount, I was playing in the Championship last season and now, we all have our first Champions League win.”

He said Nigeria and England’s keen interest in his international allegiance is reflective of the good job he is doing at Chelsea. He further added that it’s a huge honour for him to be wanted by both teams.

”For me, it’s a honour to be wanted by Nigeria and England. It shows that I’m doing something right. I’ll take my time on my decisions. I keep doing my thing on the pitch, and it’s a nice feeling to know I’m wanted by both. I love both countries and I’ll just keep doing the right thing till my time comes.”

On what his parents have said about his international commitments, Abraham said; ”To be fair, we haven’t really talked about it much. My mum and dad always say it’s a privilege to be wanted by both nations. Like I said, I love both nations and it clearly shows I’m doing something right for Chelsea.

”I am yet to make a decision because in more focused on my club football right now. We just won today and I’ll focus on our win today.”

Speaking about how much he connects to his Nigerian roots, Abraham said; ”I grew up in an area with many African cultures. Even in the changing room, nowadays, we always play Afrobeats. Nigeria is a massive country, it’s global and everyone knows it. I’m from Delta State in Nigeria.”
