Bayelsa, Kogi Elections: INEC Fixes Deadline For Submission Of Observer Application

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed a deadline for the submission of applications by the observer groups interested in observing the Bayelsa and Kogi governorship elections. Concise News gathered that the commission made it known on its website, Friday, that August 30 is the deadline for all interested observers to turn in their applications. The commission affirmed that it was inviting interested registered Civil Society Organisations, Non-Governmental Organizations and other stakeholders which activities focus on democracy, governance, and elections to visit its website for application forms. Kogi Election: APC Stakeholders Blast Buhari, NWC (See Why)

Some All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders in Kogi State, on Sunday, criticised President Muhammadu Buhari and the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party for backing Governor Yahaya Bello despite what they described as Governor Bello’s “incompetence”, Concise News reports. The stakeholders, under the auspices of Kogi Emancipation Movement (KEM), decried alleged “conspiracy of silence” on the part of the president and the APC NWC amid alleged complaints bordering on non-payment of salaries.
